Requirements include: An appropriate Degree/Diploma in
Supply/Purchasing/Procurement Management and/or 2 years appropriate proven
experience in the field of procurement and tender management; supervisory &
report writing skills are essential; computer literacy; a valid code B drivers
licence and good driving capabilities.
Duties include: Undertaking a total needs
assessment task; compilation of a procurement plan beginning of each financial
year; administering scoping exercises; promoting & implementing Black
Economic Empowerment Programmes and providing advice to Suppliers/Service
Providers and Tenderers on the procurement and tendering process; identifying
possible procurement risks by verifying and scrutinising submission of information
by Service Providers/Tenderers; providing internal support to Departments on
SCM, Contract and Tendering issues; assisting with the compilation of Statutory
reports in terms of the MFMA and the Supply Chain Management Regulations;
managing and supervising the Data Capturer and Helpdesk in the SCM unit.
