Inclusive salary package: R241 752,00 p.a
[Salary Scale: R171 948,00 - R185 220,00 p.a]
Applicants should note that successful candidates will report in East London but will be placed in the offices of Mbhashe (Dutywa); Nkonkobe and Amahlathi (Stutterheim) and therefore requested to indicate their preferred Local Municipality area.
Requirements Include: Must have passed a trade test as an Electrician / Millwright; minimum N3/4 Electrical Qualification; at least three years post apprentice experience as a qualified electrician / millwright in a municipality environment; ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams; working knowledge and installations of PLC’s, Ac/Dc drives and motors, power & control circuits and fault finding skills within control panels; capable of inspecting works prior to commissioning and communicating with the immediate superior with regards to test and functionality of the installations; sound knowledge of applicable relevant legislation including the OHS Act; a valid code B drivers licence with good driving capabilities; must have good communication skill and be computer literate; proficiency in isi –Xhosa language and being in possession of a wireman’s license will be added advantages.
Duties include: Performing routine and preventative maintenance as well as breakdowns in the confines and parameters of the OHS Act; servicing of all the electrical/mechanical equipment; conducting tests to diagnose and determine the nature of the problems; co-ordinating activities/ sequences associated with trouble shooting and fault finding; commissioning and doing minor adjustments to PLC’s electrical/electronic controlled equipment; doing standby duties and overtime; liaising with the public & water care personnel regarding water matters; compiling of monthly registers and maintenance reports of water & sanitation infrastructure within the ADM jurisdiction.
