The ADM Communications Unit will be working with the Operations and Maintenance and Municipal Health officials in an awareness campaign of the water demand management project at Mlungisi township in Stutterheim, Amahlathi Municipality during the month of March 2011.  Essentially a team of plumbers will be going to the homes of a ward at Mlungisi to fix leaking taps and toilets, and will be fitting brand new water meters that are designed to restrict the flow of water when leaks are detected and the meters can be read from a remote vehicle in the vicinity.  In this way we will be able to stop the unaccounted for water losses that we are currently experiencing in this township.  The awareness campaign will involve community meetings, establishment of a community steering committee, health and hygiene awareness programmes, issuing of leaflets to inform the community of what is being planned and implemented etc.  This project is planned for implementation in March 2011
