'Remembering the giant steps of a national poet: the life and times of SEK Mqhayi.'

Premier King David Hotel, East London, 26 to 27 November 2009

The Amathole District Municipality and the University of Fort Hare School of Humanities are proudly hosting the First SEK Mqhayi Language Conference. The public is invited to join these institutions to participate in a conference devoted to celebrate the life of a national poet laureate. Registration for the conference is free.  The conference is designed to provide a platform for different scholars, civilians, students, poets, heritage practitioners and historians to debate and find ways of celebrating his life, as Mqhayi made a significant contribution to the well-being of the South African state.  Details of the conference and registration forms are hereby attached.
