AMATHOLE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY Executive Mayor Nomasikizi Konza will host a Media Briefing scheduled for 29 January 2016 at 12h00 at Calgary in East London.
Accompanied by members of the Mayoral Committee, the Municipal Manager and Heads of Departments, the Executive Mayor will present the ADM’s drought relief/awareness interventions with specific focus on water scarcity, shedding and restrictions. The Honourable Executive Mayor will also announce the outcome of the 2014/15 Auditor-General’s report for ADM and Aspire.
Members of the media are thus invited and urged to diarise this date for their attendance and coverage.

ADM AND SEDA TO HANDOVER CERTIFICATE FOR BASIC BUSINESS SKILLS TRAINING
ADM HEADQUARTERS, FRIDAY, 15 JANUARY 2016
Amathole District Municipality (ADM) in collaboration with Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) will handover of certificate of attendance to the basic business skills training at Ncenjana SPS which is situated under Mnquma LM on Tuesday 19th January and at Lonwabo SSS which is situated under Nxuba LM on Wednesday 20 January 2016.
ADM embarked on the Climate Change Mitigation programme within its jurisdiction, the programme focuses on community capacity building, mitigation and adaptation programme. The programme has two phases of which that included the direct planting of trees, vegetables and installation of rain water tanks in mitigating the effects of climate change. The second phase was the support phase where the ADM’s enterprise development unit with environmental management unit have provided a basic business skills training to two enterprising schools through Small Enterprise Development in collaboration with Seda. The people whom were trained are the SGB of each school which include Students, Teachers and Parents as they were directly involved in the day to day management of the project, with the hope that they will generate the income and be able to properly manage the school project for future benefits and to be sustainable.
