ADM COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING RESOLUTIONS

Amathole District Municipality Council has, in its sitting today, noted a report by the Executive Mayor Cllr Nceba Ndikinda on the provision of security services to Cllr Nanziwe Rulashe. The contents of the report cannot be divulged to the public as the private investigation into the case is still on-going. 

Second and last on the agenda was the recruitment of the Municipal Manager effective from 01 June 2022. Council noted the report on the recruitment process followed in the appointment of the Municipal Manager. 

Council further approved the appointment of the highest scoring candidate, in this case being Dr. Thandekile Mnyimba.

The aim was to present an opportunity for all ADM workers and surrounding commu-nity who have not yet vaccinated to do so.

Amathole District Municipality (ADM) with Eastern Cape Department of Health’s (ECDoH) district based office conducted a two -day vaccination programme at Calgary Muse-um and Conference Centre on 05 – 06 May 2022. 

The vaccination programme was open to everyone, whether the person was a first time vaxxer or going for the booster shot. Making full use of this initiative were a few members of council notably from Mbhashe Local Municipality as well as ADM staff members among them Vusumzi Tonisi who went for a booster shot. “ I’ve not had the time to go to other facilities that offer Covid-19 vaccination, and having the vaccination program here has been of help to me” – he said, adding -“now that I have had all three shots, I feel my chances of beating the virus are pretty good. Also doing my part to help flatten the curve is of importance to me which is one other reason I am here today” – he added.
