PUBLIC NOTICE RE: NOTIFICATION OF AMATHOLE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY DECEMBER 2020 SHUTDOWN PLANS

This serves to notify all our stakeholders that Amathole District Municipality (ADM) offices will be closed from Tuesday, 15th December 2020 and re-open Monday, 4th January 2021 for the holidays. During this period the essential services departments providing water, sanitation, fire and emergency services will continue to operate. In addition to Engineering Staff and Disaster Management personnel who will be working during the “shut down” period, support services for communications, revenue/accounts, fleet and security will be provided by staff.

The illegal Industrial strike action is compromising services in some areas, however ADM has put in place mechanisms to attend to incidents relating to burst pipes to ensure service delivery continuity. We have further beefed up security in all our plants to safeguard water infrastructure against vandalism. We unreservedly apologise to our valuable stakeholders for intermittent water supply and assure you of our commitment to restoring services.
