Good day colleagues in the media.
As a crucial stakeholder and source of information for many of our communities, please receive this kind reminder of the upcoming ADM Water and Sanitation Indaba starting tomorrow Wednesday 05 February - 07 February 2020.
DID YOU KNOW?
ADM water and sanitation services are provided through different levels of service, namely:
• Interim water supply comprising of stand-alone schemes and communal standpipes greater than 200m walking distance. This is provided in areas, where possible, not yet covered by a formal scheme,
• RDP level which comprises of communal standpipes within a 200m radius of households and Ventilated Improved Pit (VIP’s) latrines. This infrastructure is currently provided in rural communities;
• An intermediate level of service comprising of yard taps and low flush toilet cisterns are provided in low income urban settlements; and
• High levels of service are comprising of full water and water borne connections are provided in more affluent urban settlements.
The media is thus invited to be part of the ADM’s journey into unfolding these exchange of ideas aimed at propelling the district forward in its quest towards sustainable water and sanitation provision for its communities and industries as well as fight against climate change.
