Flagship Projects

 

 

Raymond Mhlaba 

 

We have allocated an amount of R84million for Raymond Mhlaba. We will use R8million to continue to implement the Hogsback Water Treatment Works and Reservoir Phase 3. Ukanti, R16.9million will be used for the upgrading of Fort Beaufort Bulk Water Services and R3million will go towards rural sanitation programme. 

 

An amount of R5.5million will go towards Adelaide Water Treatment Works & Bedford Water Treatment Works. Fort Beaufort Waste Water Treatment Works is allocated R8.5million. The Refurbishment of Adelaide Canal has been allocated R7million and R4million will be used to refurbish the Lushington bulk infrastructure. Moreover, we will use R5million for various Water Loss Reduction Programmes (Water Conservation and Demand Management) in Raymond Mhlaba.

 

Ngqushwa 

 

Ngqushwa Local Municipality has been allocated an amount of R41.9million.  R20million of this allocation will go towards the Rural Sanitation Programme. We have allocated R8million  to kick start the Peddie Waste Water Treatment Works, with another R8million for Ngqushwa Bulk Water Supply. We will use R5million towards various Water Loss Reduction Programmes (Water Conservation and Demand Management) in Ngqushwa.

 

Amahlathi

We have allocated R17million to replace the old infrastructure in Stutterheim. We have also allocated R13million for the Carthcart Bulk Water Service. Izakusinceda kakhulu le project for the Department of Human Settlements to begin the housing project in that area.

Great Kei 

 

Honourable Speaker, we have made available R32million for Great Kei.  An amount of R2million will be used to make sure that we bring water to the people of Qumra Commonage. R12million is allocated for Kei Bridge Treatment Works and another R12million will be used to roll out the Rural Sanitation Programme at ward 1, 2, 3 and 4.

 

An amount of R2million has been allocated for Cwili Interim Water Services. We will refurbish Qumrha Reservoirs for an amount of R1million and Cintsa Dam Refurbishment for an amount of R200 000. We have also allocated R2.5million towards various Water Loss Reduction Programmes (Water Conservation and Demand Management) in Great Kei.

 

Mbashe 

 

uMasipala wase Mbhashe ngokufanayo nowase Mnquma ngooMaspala abasasilela ngasemva kuziso lweenkonzo. The historical backlog in these municipalities means that we must allocate more budget for them. The R200million allocated for Mbhashe will be used to continue with some of the existing projects. In addition, for the 2019-2020, our allocation for Xhora Water Supply Scheme received a further R105million.

 

The Sundwana Water Supply Scheme has been allocated a further R16.9million. An amount of R7million for Mncwasa Regional Supply Phase 4. In addition, an amount of R4million for Mgwali North Water Supply project and R2m for Idutywa East Water Supply Scheme Phase 2. 

 

We will use R1million  to Refurbish boreholes in Dutywa and R1.5million has been allocated towards various Water Loss Reduction Programmes (Water Conservation and Demand Management) in Mbhashe. An amount of R42million sizakuthi siyisebenzise kwii projects zogutyulo lwelindle, including ukwakhiwa kwezindlu zangasese. 

 

Mnquma 

 

Honourable Speaker, for 2019-2020 financial year, Mnquma has been allocated R156million to implement water and sanitation projects. R16.9million is allocated for Ibika to Centani Water Supply Phase 3. An amount of R15million for Gcuwa West Regional Water Supply. Moreover, R21million for Ngqamakhwe Regional Water Supply Phase 4 and R16.9million for Nxaxo & Cebe Water Supply Scheme Phase 2. 

 

An amount of R8.5million has been allocated for Butterworth Waste Water Treatment Works, R6million for Crouches Bush and R2.5million will go towards various Water Loss Reduction Programmes (Water Conservation and Demand Management) in Mnquma.
